For Bloggers

That’s Why I’m a Blogger: Open TAG

There’s something I’ve discovered about being a beauty blogger, and it’s the community. I discovered it from my first months in blogging, and the thing I love about this community is that it’s always growing, and the more I read from you guys, the more I learn about you, so I wanted to share something about me, that a lot of you don’t know, or don’t know the extent of.

I’m a Photographer.

I don’t mean “oh I photograph kids parties”… I mean, I’m a Photographer.

I take beautiful pictures, of amazing women.

I worked on some advertising campaigns.

I built portfolios with models.

I did fun, creative shoots with these talented girls.

Amateur and professional alike.

I photographed Envy,

and Gluttony,

and Lust.

I got to work with some of them many times, especially Molli, a girl that I was SO intimidated to approach the first time, when I was so new, who became an amazing friend and my most frequent model.

I photograph women, and food,

and I create advertisements.

Cupcake Editorial

Both with my photography,

Cereality Teaser

and purely based on graphics,

MAd Club - Launch Ad

and with logos I designed,

Fantasy Frostings Logo

to create cohesive looks across a brand.

Fantasy Frostings Package

I’ve helped to launch brands, websites, products. I’ve won awards in photography and design. I tutored Photoshop, and InDesign, and was the go-to girl for quick help in either of those platforms, as well as often used as a bounce board to throw copy-writing ideas at and see if they stuck. Slogans are my thing almost as much as design is. I’ve written heart-wrenching pieces that can’t go here, radio ads, advertising slogans, and advertising copy, as well as written for two makeup forums quite a while back.

I’ve studied Psychology, Photography, Advertising, Typography, Graphic Design, Web Design, Video Creation & Editing, Social Media Management, and Marketing, including Creating Content Calendars for an entire brand or promotion. I love creating art, I love creating something that appeals to people. I love creating something useful and that you were either searching for or might not have realized you needed.

That’s why I’m a blogger.

So I challenge you, any of you, anyone that reads this, whether it’s today, tomorrow, next week, a year from now. I challenge you to do this tag. All you have to do, is share your “Why I’m a blogger” and let the rest of the world see your amazing talents, influences, and interests that brought you to where you are today.

That's Why I'm A Blogger TAG

I would absolutely love it if you would send me a link to your post, linking back to this one would be great but isn’t necessary, but I would LOVE to see what you create.

You are welcome to use the ‘badge’ I created, or create your own.

Nominate specific people you want to see do this tag or leave it open for everyone, that’s up to you!

Just make sure to add the tag Why I’m A Blogger Tag if possible to help other people find your post down the road.

  1. Badass portfolio girl!
I can’t say it’s a dream of mine to become a photographer, but I do want to become a better one. I’ve been into photography since I was 12 lol. I’m barely getting the chance to learn so many things on my own. 🙂

    1. Thanks sweetie! I’d done photography a bit but ended up doing editing for some random photographers online and hit the “well I could do that, and do it better” stage, getting my style down was one of the funnest moments of my life and having people say “I knew it was yours just from the photo” is like the ultimate photography high. I obsessed on through like Every tutorial when I had it free for school.

Hey girl!
